Happy, Healthy Kitchen – Chili Lime Hummus

Happy, Healthy Kitchen – Chili Lime Hummus

I don’t know about you, but I find myself snacking more these days. I wanted to share a healthy snack dip recipe, made with ingredients from your pantry. I was craving hummus but wanted to create a different flavor than my normal one. I came up with this one and hope you like it as much as I did. BTW, this recipe is very forgiving and will allow a lot of substitutions, so feel free to use what you have on hand.

Chili Lime Hummus

Ingredients

1 can garbanzo beans, partially drained
1/3 cup roasted red pepper
1 – 2 large, whole garlic cloves
1/3 cup hemp hearts (substitute 2 T. tahini or olive oil)
Juice of one small lemon (substitute lime or apple cider vinegar)
1 1/2 – 2 T. chili lime seasoning (substitute chili powder)
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp to 1 tsp salt
1 tsp. maple syrup (substitute agave nectar)

Directions

Place all ingredients in blender or food processor and blend until creamy.  Enjoy!
