Medical Assistant

Full time and part time positions available

Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the office manager and owner according to the medical protocol set forth by AZ Medical Weight Control.  The environment is fast-paced, and the position is multifaceted.

License/Certificate Requirements:
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Body composition and weigh in
  • Obtains patient’s vitals
  • Administers IM injections
  • Documenting patient progress in EMR
  • Coach and educate patients how to live and maintain a healthier lifestyle
  • Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss patients progress and address any concerns
  • Cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day and every night

 

 

Non-essential Job Functions:

 

  • Performs other clinical duties as required
  • Assists with all administrative duties including but not limited to, answering phones, taking phone orders and scheduling patients
  • Responsible for daily inventory levels of all clinical supplies and informing owner of inventory requirements
  • Trains additional staff on daily procedures when requested

  • Must be able to multi-task, apply critical thinking skills, and provide highest level of customer service at all levels of the operation

  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs

 

Preferences:

 

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Knowledge and/or experience with exercise and nutrition
