Happy, Healthy Body – Exercise Melts Away the Stress

Exercise Melts Away the Stress

Many people can benefit if they discover something they like to do that’s actually fun, like swimming, hiking, riding bicycles, walking, etc. And once they actually start enjoying it, they will find that they will want to do it more often, making it a part of their weekly routine. It will help them melt away the stress in their life which will lead to greater happiness.

“Exercise produces a relaxation response that serves as a positive distraction,” says Cedric Bryant, chief exercise physiologist for the American Council on Exercise. He says it also helps elevate your mood and keep depression at bay. You’re not the only person who will benefit from more happiness and less stress in your life. When you’re less stressed, you’re less irritable, says certified trainer David Atkinson, and that could improve relationships with your mate, kids, and co-workers.

I know I have personally experienced a long list of health benefits from incorporating exercise into my weekly routine. I have also noticed huge emotional and mental benefits too. I have less emotional highs and lows with a general happy, calm feeling inside, not to mention energetic vitality. The key to me making exercise a regular part of my weekly routine for almost two years has been that I followed the well known advice to do something you love to do. I love to take brisk walks to my beautiful park down the street from my house. I breath in the fresh air and meditate as I look at the sunny blue sky, white clouds, butterfly’s in the many trees, and hear the birds chirping away. I literally feel all the stress melt out of my body and mind. I also love to dance to all kinds of music, or sometimes I dance/jump on my rebounder. I have noticed since I am really enjoy what I am doing, it has motivated me to consistently stick with my exercise routine, where before I have struggled to make exercise an unchanging part of my life. My consistency has helped me to either lose weight or maintain the weight I have lost.

I hope you enjoy and experience the many benefits of exercise in your personal life as I have.
